Let YOUR love lead them.......lead me.

Can a man forget the people and land which helped him a lot to be successful in his life, become as he is now............ situation may change, the riches will come, sudden pleasures will appear, the feeling may come that I became something different now, and the feeling that I am able for anything ........... these may chance the people.......if they are not with God.......if they are not in contact with the one who created him............. yes we loose the relation with HIM when we go away from HIM ...... but HE is there always....without leaving him alone...... very often we are not aware of it............or our heart is not ready to accept it..............when we are away from HIM our hearts are like the sea with more and big waves.......... no calmness..........always worried of something......................something is missing...............yes we miss the very and important person..........presence of God in us...........we need to become aware of HIS guidence................. after all the ranning last we will come to HIM................HE will be there even then with open hand ...........ready to embrace us..........I humbly kneel before HIM..........I faild infrent of HIS love..........HIS love that make me become ashamed..............even many times I went away from HIM ..............there is no difference in HIS love for me............ HE calls me always................with HIS smille.............Lord let not the world´s things change and take away my heart and let these things change people ........ but let YOUR love.............lead them .........lead me.

Trust in HIM

I can not think about this.............Lord give me the strength to face it with courage. In this world the real human needs and wants become a subject of question if we are in the hand of power and authority. They can reject and say meaningless that our human needs and necessities. Some even don´t listen what the people wants to say. They give importance to the money and material things. But always ONE is there WHO knows the need of each one of us, HE will take care of the person who are rejected of their human necessity. Let us be courageou and trust in HIM alone.

Day to day life is something challenging.....is it?

It is very interesting to reflect about life. Always we experience somthing different in our life. Life without challenge is life nothing, there is no growth. Persons are different...................it is very sad that people think that others should think and do as they like. But they forget that each person has his own ideas and vision of life. We must become aware of this reality. The freedom of each person.

Thanks to God

For me it was a good opportunity to see Bp.Bressaneli SCJ and speak with him. Before I saw him when he came to India. That time he was the general superior of our Congregation. A simple person, all can approach him easily. I get an inspiration from him. His simplicity ans availability. That God will continue to bless him, in his ministry as bishop, to guide his people in proper faith. Thank you Lord for the presence of this great man in my journey of religious life.

FR.LEO DEHON

Father Leo Dehon was born on the 14th March 1843 at La Capelle, in the diocese of Soissons, in France. In later years he reflected with pleasure that he was baptised on the following 24th March, the eve of the Annunciation. He was to write: “in this way my Baptism united me with the ‘Ecce Venio’ of Our Lord”. He would say to his spiritual sons, the Priests of the Sacred Heart; “In the Ecce Venio and the Ecce Ancilla is to be found our whole vocation and our whole mission”. The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary would be light and strength for him throughout his long life. His tender and filial devotion to Our Lady led him to an ardent contemplation of the Heart of the Saviour pierced on the cross.
From his well-respected and distinguished family the young Leo would develop a noble and gentlemanly spirit, rich in humanity and open to deep friendships with all kinds of people in the Church and in civil society his whole life long. He was particularly thankful to God for his mother who “began in me the love of the Sacred Heart”.
While still at high school he was blessed with excellent priests who, as teachers and spiritual guides, helped him to understand the first stirrings of a priestly vocation around Christmas of 1865. However his father, who had dreamed of a brilliant career for his son tried to frustrate his calling to the priesthood by sending Leo off to the Sorbonne in Paris. Here at the age of 21 he obtained the degree of doctor of civil law. Throughout this period of study Leo attended the Church of San Sulpice where “there reigned a truly sacerdotal spirit which continued to inspire me towards the priesthood”. Now his father, almost wanting to put him off his vocation completely, offered his son a long trip around the Orient. Leo was delighted to be able to walk in the homeland of Jesus. But on the return leg of his journey, notwithstanding the objections of his family, he stopped in Rome where, with the blessing of Pope Pius IX he entered the French seminary of Saint Claire in October 1865. “I was finally in my true element, I was happy!”. The pope, in whom Leo recognised “goodness united with holiness”, had confirmed Leo’s vocation.
On the day of his priestly ordination, 19 December 1868 in the basilica of Saint John Lateran, Leo’s joy in the sacrament of ordination was redoubled by the return of his father to the practice of the faith. After having the powerful experience of the worldwide Church when Leo was a stenographer for the first Vatican Council, he returned to his home diocese of Soissons and, in obedience to his local bishop, became the most junior curate in saint Quentin. With four degrees behind him (Civil and Canon law, Philosophy and Theology) and with a solid grounding through experience in Spirituality and Church life, he was able to give himself totally in many pastoral and social initiatives. He took part in the very first congresses for workers and founded a catholic newspaper. He gave life and vigour to the Institute of Saint John through welcoming and forming young people and eventually he founded the College of Saint John.
When the Sister Servants of the sacred Heart arrived in the diocese, Father Dehon was appointed by the bishop, as their spiritual director and confessor. He wrote: “This providential circumstance provided me with orientation for all the rest of my life”. This was true because, by this time, despite his frenetic pastoral activity, the now Canon Dehon was feeling drawn towards religious life. The spirituality of love and devotion to the Sacred Heart which was the guiding principle of the Sister Servants was waiting to be lived out by a congregation of priests.
When Leo was on a visit to Rome with his bishop they stopped off at the shrine of Loreto. This place, which was just a pause in their journey, would be a fundamental source of inspiration to Leo in the foundation of the new group. Later he would write “It was here that the Congregation was born in 1877”. In that little house where the Ecce Venio and the Ecce Ancilla were realised in the Incarnation of Jesus, Father Dehon understanded clearly what the spiritual kernel and the dynamic force of the Congregation would be.
On the 28 June 1878 the feast of the Sacred Heart, in the chapel of the college of Saint John, Canon Leo Dehon makes his vows as the first of the Oblates of the Sacred Heart and to these vows he adds a vow of victimhood in love and reparation. Because of this he wanted to be called by a new name, Father John of the Sacred Heart. It was with this title that he would eventually be presented by the postulator of his cause for Beatification. The early days of the Congregation were marked by great activity for Father Dehon, they were days which saw a flowering of vocations but also many trials, misunderstandings and sad ordeals which would lead to the suppression of the young foundation. On the 3 December 1883 came the ‘consumatum est’, the decree which ordered that the Oblates be disbanded. Father Dehon felt that he had been “Destroyed and torn to shreds” but even in this great suffering he was able to offer up a remarkable act of submission to God and to the Church. This trial was to be the dawn of the resurrection of a new institute with the name “Priests of the Sacred Heart”. At its re-birth the group would take on a new vigour towards foreign mission work, the social apostolate, preaching local missions, and evangelisation. On 25 February 1888 the new group reveived from the Pope the ‘Decretum Laudis’ and Father Dehon went to Rome to thank Pope Leo XIII in person. It was at this time that the pope asked Leo to preach his encyclicals, to support local clergy through prayer and collaboration, to encourage houses of adoration, and to encourage people to work in the foreign missions. Father Dehon noted with great joy “This is the mission which the Holy Father has entrusted to us”.
But even at this time Fr. Dehon was having to walk the way of the cross. There were accusations made against him, calumnies about his behaviour, troubles regarding the relationship with the diocese, and opposition from within the Congregation. Everything seemed lost, there was a sense of shame. It was when Fr. Dehon made the spiritual exercises of St Ignatius that he recovered his serenity, so that he could renew the pact of love he had made: “I give myself completely to Our Lord to serve him in all things and to do his will in all things. I am ready, with the help of his grace to do and to endure whatever he wills. Later, reflecting on the often painful events of his life, he wrote: “Our Lord has accepted my act of oblation. He wanted to make his work into a great building – for this the foundations had to be dug so deeply”. Father Dehon knew how to embrace the cross with faith in a spirit of love and reparation – he understood that this would produce rich fruit, - and so it proved to be. Soon the Congregation grew strong and began to expand greatly. Father Dehon was sustained in his work by the support of various popes (Leo XIII, St. Pius X, Benedict XV, and Pius XI) all of whom he served with hard work and devotion. Throughout his life he continued to write (The magazine ‘The Reign of the Sacred Heart in souls and in Societies has been running since 1889), to give conferences (he gave a series of very well loved conferences in Milan and Rome), he took part in congresses on social matters, and he continued to found new houses of the Congregation throughout the world. In the last few pages of his diary Father Dehon wrote: “In my youthful idealism I made a tearful vow, I wished to be a missionary and a martyr. It seems to me now that this has been realised. I am a missionary through more than a hundred missionaries I have sent out; I am a martyr because Our Lord has accepted my vow of victimhood”.
Fr Dehon worked tirelessly, despite his frail-looking frame he was sustained by a faith which was both genuine and deep, it was “certainty in confidence”. Here was the rock on which he had built his life and his mission. He drew from this faith a constant, truly Christian optimism, which was able to overcome all obstacles, enabled him always to look forward with hope: “he had a radiant faith which, through his preaching and the example of his life, showed clearly his ardent love for the Heart of Christ”.
Love and Reparation, these were his great concern. His religious were given, as a special mission within the Church, reparatory Eucharistic Adoration. Social reparation too was to be made, through working lovingly for justice as a means of creating a “civilization of love”. From his contemplation of the Heart of Christ he drew out what was considered one of the most constant aspects of his personality; a genuine goodness, which people found fascinating and which caused him to be greatly loved. This was particularly so among the young, who often referred to him as the “Très Bon Pere”.
The Servant of God Father Dehon, exemplified a wonderful sense of balance in human virtue. With the grace of God he transformed mundane reality through his simplicity, apostolic zeal, and mystical asceticism. In this way he strove for perfection in his priestly and religious vocation and has become a model of priesthood and religious life in modern times.
In the last years of his life, alongside his striving to promote the spirituality of the Sacred Heart and the longing to establish the Reign of God in souls and in society, Father Dehon took on the task of building the great basilica of Christo Re. Father Dehon inaugurated this temple of peace when construction began on 18 May 1920.
Father Dehon’s greeting “Vivat Cor Jesu, per Cor Mariae” indicates that his way through life was also guided by the gentle light of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Father Dehon died in Brussels on 12 August 1925. Towards the end he stretched out his hand towards a portrait of the Sacred Heart and exclaimed in a clear voice, “For him I lived, for him I die. He is my everything, my life, my death and my eternity ”. To his spiritual sons, the Priests of the Sacred Heart (also known as Dehonians in honour of their founder), and to all those who see in Father Dehon a father and a guide for living out the gospel according to the spirituality of the Sacred Heart, (in other words the whole Dehonian family), he left a written spiritual testament: “I leave you the greatest of all treasures, the Heart of Jesus”.
Father Dehon summed up his greatest aspirations and the mission of the Dehonian family within the Church as “The reign of the Sacred Heart in souls and in societies”. This is what is meant by the kingdom of the civilization of love!

Homily 6th Sunday fo Easter.

All through the Easter season we read from the Acts of the Apostles. There we see the growth and development of First Christian community. It is very interesting and meaningful for us to reflect about the First Christian Community. When we reflect we can see that the First Christian community teaches us something for our family life and our community life today. Mainly we can see 4 essential point which we can take today to our life.

a) The First Christian community was faithful to the teaching of the Apostles:- Means they were living the Gospel values. They were faithful to each other in the community and they gave life witness.

b) They were concerned for each other, especially for the poor and the weak:- They gave attention to the people to whom they live, for them everything was in common. There were no discrimination in the community as rich and poor.

c) The Breaking of Bread:- They were faithful in participating in the breaking of the bread, that today we have in the form of Eucharist. They were sincerely participating and living the meaning of Eucharist, that in unity and peace.

d) Thanksgiving:- They were greatful to each other, what they receive from the community. More than that they were thanksful to each other for their life presence, for their life witnesses.

Dear friends when we look at today´s families and communities we can see very often these 4 essential points are missing from our day today life. So we see the breaking up of the families very soon. Today the First Christian community calls us to reflect about our own families and communities. Are we faithful to the other persons in our families or communities?, Are we concerned for others, do we give time for other, are we ready to listen others? Do we have time to come together in the family? We thank when we receive some gifts from others, but do we thank the person for his life presence in our joruney of life?

Another point today´s first reading give us is, it asks us to inherit the quality; the Chritian ability to solve the problems. The 15th chapter of Acts of the Apostles gives us the first prolem in the Christian community. But today´s first reading tells us how the Apostles were able to solve the problem. They were able because they were living the Gospel values. They called the people together, listened them, collected all the openions, and took decision together. We too need to inherit the quality. We live in human community, there naturaly have problems, we should be able to slove them, we can solve them if we live the Gospel values in our day today life.

The Gospel shows how deep is God´s love that He never leae us alone and how we should express our love. Today´s Gospel is an answer to the question of one of His desciples that how canit be that you can show yourself clearly only to us and not to the world. Jesus knew what He was going to suffer and that He was going to die but He was not worried of Himself, He was thinking of His desciples that He will leave behind. He knew that they were weak when the trails come they will fall. Here He shows His unconditional love He promissed to send His Spirit to guide them. For God´s love there is no conditions, He never asks anything in return. But He asked us only one thing `Love one another as He has loved us`. This was His condition. We want to love but very often we base our love in human perspective, for our self pleasure, happiness. This human love searchonly pleasure. But Jesus asks us to love one another as He loved us. That si to love others until the pain of death. He showed us teh greatest example, He loved us until the Cross. His love call us for sacrifice.

Today´s Gospel is also a gospel of Hope. We see the promise of th Holy Spirit. God never leave us alone. We read in the Gospels that after the death of Jesus the desciples went away for their own works, they lost their hope. But when they received the Holy Spirit we see the result, they stood for the Gospel even at the point of death. Let us pray today for the gift of Holy Spirit that we may be strong and live according to the guidence of the Spirit.

We uesed to visit hospital form our minor seminaries. One day I visited a mother who was dying with Cancer, she was at great pain and suffering much and she knew that she is dying. But her words surprissed me and made me to think. The mother told me, brother I am fride to go now, if I go today who will love my children, who will take care of them. Even in her pain and suffering the mother was not thinking of herself but about her children and family. My dear friends today we celebrate Mothers day. We experience teh unconditional love of God first from our pearants specialy from our mothers, we experiecne the sacrificing love. The mothers in the Christian families are called as the first teachers of faith. From our mothers we receive teh seed of faith. A mother in the family love to talk much specialy to her children becasue she wants her children grow in good fiath and Christian values. Today whatever success of live and in whatever state of life we are behid all these there is a woman...our mother, because she gave us life. A mother is a life giver, without life we are nothing. today we may be thinking what gift we can give to our mothers, dear friends if we pray sincerly in this Eucharist and say to our mothers that I love you my mother that will be the best gift youcan give today to your mothers. In today´s Gospel Jesus says if you love me you will obey my words. Yes my dear friends we can express our love to our mothers ....if we obdy thier words and advices. We experience this reality in our families, that if the mother in the family is happy the whole family is happy. From our mothers we learn........that we need to live in this world with courage to face the challenges, we need to live in this world with security to have faith, we nedd to live in this world with friendship to find God´s love in this world. Love of a mother is eternal. Today let us offer our mothers in the hands of Our Beloved Mother Mary that she may protect them and lead themin their journey to bring their children in good faith. If a mother is happy the whole family is happy. Amen.

Pictures of Visit to the Hindu community

Visit to the Hindu Community in Brazil

It is very interesting to know about the Hindu Community in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I visited the community last week. The community is named as ´Hare Krishna´. At present all the memebers of the community are the local people. The communityis started by an Indian, he is a Sami. I had a chance to be present in a prayer section. It is very interesting, people sing, dance, and make some signs of praise of God. It is a silent place, with trees, streems, mountains, and animals. Naturaly beautiful place. They teach the Mandras there. There also exist a Thandra peeda, here the candidates for the priesthood study the mandras, prayers and the scriptures. After coming to Brazil first time I saw the ladies with sarees and Churidars and the men with Mundu and Jubbhas. There is also a shoppe for the India style cloths. They come to India and buy the and bring here. So everything an Indian touch. I saw and Indian village in Brazil. I was very happy to see the temple and the people of our own culture and Indian touch.

It is very painful, when we come to know that the people we trust and love, saying against us. They still not understanding us....what to do.........it is painful........

Now I like to be alone and be myself.......only help is God in this time of loneliness and pain. These days I try to be alone and reflect about myself and the incident. Yes it is needed for human beings to be alone and reflect about his life. I hope and believe that God is with me to give me strength to face this challnge. I am very happy to face this challenge, which will strengthen my vocation and life. I thank the Lord for this challenge. He wants to make me stronger and stronger.

We all feel that be became big and we know everything, but the reality is the opposite.........we no very little about anything........... the awareness bring us be thankful to God and hear His voice.

Lavras .......St.Ana Parish

I WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY EASTER.
How are you? I hope that you all had a good and joyful Easter celebration in your respective communities. I had a wonderful time in another state of Brazil. I was in a parish for the Holy Week and the Easter celebration. The parish is St.Ana, an SCJ parish in Lavras, Minas Gerais(state) . I was staying with fathers, there are 5 priests in the parish. I was helping the priests for teh Masses and other Liturgical celebrations. And also I was learning from them something for my life in the future. I was going to different sub-stations with fathers. I was introduced to the people and the people had many questions about India, culture and Catholics in India. Eventhough I am still limited in language I tried to answer some of the questions of the people. It was a meaningful time for me. During these day the Provicial of Congo was present in the parish. A happy and joyful religious.

What touched my heart is that for all the celebrations the people were flocking. Every day in the Holy Week there were processions. .....I never saw this much people anywhere in the celebrations. I felt that the whole people of Minas Gerais is there in the Church. Their faith and active participation made me to think about my own life as Christian more than that as a religious. This experience is something meaningful for my religious life. Beside this I had an interview with a nes paper there. They asked me about India, Catholics in India, my vocation and my experience in Lavras.

I thank all the fathers of Conventinho and father Sebastin Pitz fr giving me the opertunity to experience soemthing different in my life. I pray for all of you.
God bless you all
